Technique Club day!!!

I know I have talked about how much I love and look forward to my Technique Club. It is just a fun group of women and I love their enthusiasm. If you would like to join one of my clubs, please let me know. You wont regret it! Not only do you get to come over to my place once a month to make awesome stuff, but you get to be the hostess one of the months and earn LOTS of free stuff! We have some great Hostess Promotions running right now, so why not join?

Here are the projects for this months club. Two of them feature sets from the Holiday Mini. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The first card features the BEAUTIFUL serene snowflakes set and is also my entry in to this weeks Pal Paper Arts Challenge.

I wanted to see if Silver, gold & chocolate chip worked together and boy do they ever!! I ADORE this card! I wanted to experiment with some non-traditional colours. The main snowflake is heat embossed in Silver. The background snowflakes are stamped on Very Vanilla using Platinum Shimmer paint, Gold ink and Chocolate Chip. I have even used some Brushed gold paper for framing the sentiment and main snowflake. Oh and under the sentiment is a touch of Silver elastic cord.

This second card was inspired by this card by Kristen Kennedy. I love the colour combo. I changed it up a bit and substituted Melon Mambo for the Rose Red. I used the Patterned Pines Level 1 hostess set from the Mini as well as I created a little embellishment with the snowflake from the set and the Jumbo snowflake punch and a clear Rhinestone brad! I think it's quite a beauty, I hope the girls like it too.

The last project is Halloween Treat pouch. It was one the first things I learnt to make with Stampin' Up Products and probally the reason I became addicted. It is soooooo easy and can modified based on the paper and stamp set you use for almost any occassion, holiday or event! I hope the girls like making them!

Sorry that I don't have the samples of this weekends 6 card class up yet, but I have been very busy working on something, that I can't quite share with you yet. But I will say that it is a fun event of some kind in November....... stay tuned.

This is the first sample I am sharing with you that uses the Heart to Heart punch, our Deal of the Week for only $15.99 until Monday at noon!!!!

I love the look of black and Melon Mambo! It's rather striking isn't it? I am definitely going to have to make some cards with this combination in the near future. This card uses the coordinating hearts from both the "Love you Much" stamp set and then it was punched with the Heart to Heart punch. After it was heat embossed with white embossing powder and stamped with versamark ink. Beautiful contrast!

Stampin' Up "God's Blessings" stamp set, "Love you Much" stamp set
Stampin' Up Card stock- Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Black.

Kwerner Colours #53

It's that time again, and I regret that I didn't get a chance to participate in #51 or 52, but sometimes there just isn't the time to play :(

Once again, these are not colours that I would EVER put together on my own, but I LOVE how my card turned out. It's sooooo bold!! My team members can look forward to a version of this card at our team meeting!

The flowers from Eastern blooms were first stamped on my paper using versamark and then I embossed them with clear embossing powder. I love how professional clear embossed images look.

Products used:
Stampin' Up "Eastern Blooms" stamp set, "Elegant Thank You" stamp

Colour Inspiration #45

Hi there,

It's almost Friday!!! I am very much looking forward to the weekend. It's going to be a busy one as usual, but at least I get to spend most of it with the family! Kristina Werner posted her new colour challenge tonight, and I just had to play. I love these colours but I did struggle trying to come up with a design. The card I created has been in my head, in one version or another for some time. It was really difficult to photograph. I also tried using my black embossing powder for the first time. There were many many mistake hearts stamped and embossed because I learnt the hard way that black is not very forgiving. It shows all the mistakes!! The embossing buddy is a MUST when working with black embossing powder!! I took two pictures, one of the card laying down, and one standing up because I wasn't sure how it would turn out in the pics. I also struggled with this one because I wanted to add a sentiment, but wasn't sure that I should. I didn't want to over complicate things, if you know what I mean. Anyhow let me know what you think about the card.
I would love to get some feed back.

To emboss or not to emboss......

Hi Guys,

Today I am showing you yet another way to Dry Emboss. I made this card because a friend of mine asked me to make some thank you cards for her mom, and the only specification was that her mom LOVES purple. So, this is what I came up with. Those of you who were at Xander's 1st birthday might recognize the design, I used the same one for his thank you cards (with different colours and a different dry emboss texture).

The dry embossing for this card was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and run through my Big Shot. The flower is from the Sizzix Sizzlets "Birds and Blooms" dies that I also ran through my Big Shot. For the sentiment, I stamped it in Versamark and then used my clear embossing power to Heat Emboss it.

Heat Embossing is a different embossing technique where you stamp your image in an embossing ink (Versamark, Top Boss etc) and then you cover the stamped image in embossing power. You then require a heat tool to heat up the embossing powder so that it takes on a hard, shiny surface. It's a really professional looking technique.

I really like how these cards turned out. I love the lacy look of the Whisper white layer. I hope my friend really likes the cards, and I hope her mom does too!

Products used:
Stampin' Up "Wonderful Words" stamp set (Retired)
Stampin' Up Card stock- Whisper White, Lavender Lace, Pale Plum, Certainly Celery.
Stampin' Up Ink- Versamark
Accessories- Stampin' Up clear embossing power, Heat Tool, Stickles glitter, Stampin' Up Scallop border punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Big Shot.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend, and for some, the last few days of their holidays!! Monday, it's back to the grind!!!!!

Cheers,
