My Stampin' Up! Story
In 2003 I went on a trip with my husband and my daughter to New Brunswick.  We were there for 2 weeks and I took tons of pictures.  After developing 7 rolls of film (yes, it was before the digital era), I discovered that all of the pictures were amazing and deserved much better treatment then to be put in a photo album or worse to be left, unseen in a box.  I had heard about Scrapbooking and decided that’s what I needed to do with them.

I didn’t know what I was doing, I didn’t have a coach, teacher or guide or even any materials.  Needless to say it took me until 2008 when I was on Maternity Leave with my son Alexander to commit the time to finishing my book.  I scoured the internet and asked around and found myself contacting a Demonstrator with another Direct Sales company to get started.  Immediately I saw Direct Sales as and opportunity to make some extra money for my family, seeing as I was on Mat leave and we were now living on a reduced salary.   I wasn’t however convinced that that company was the one for me.  That Demonstrator was the one who introduced me to Stampin’ Up!.  She told me “you have to check this stuff out, it’s like Kindergarden for adults!”.  I was immediately intrigued.  She was a member of a Stamp club with my now Upline, Caroline LeBel.  She sent me the links to the Club info and told me that she just signed up again.  I check out the catalogue on line and said to myself “ooooohhhh, I sooo have to do this!”.  And so, virtually sight unseen I committed myself to a 10 month club.  After my first club date I was hooked!  I knew that I had just found the company that I wanted to sign up with.

Stampin’ Up! offers so much that I knew it would be the perfect opportunity.  Card making costs less, takes less materials, space and time then Scrapbooking, and in my city there were almost no craft stores.  I knew that I could find lots of people to share my new found obsession with.  And the best part was that I could also share my love of scrapbooking, the craft that brought me to Stampin’ Up! in the first place.  Within 6 months of joining that club I had signed up as a Demonstrator and I have never looked back.  My goal of supplementing my families income has been realized, and each month I look for new ways to continue to grow my business because it brings me more than money.  I have a creative outlet and I have made lifelong friendships.
