Club projects, and Santa's Workshop

Hey All,

I just wanted to pop in quickly and share with you my projects for Club this week and give you a reminder about Santa's Workshop.
I really appologize for the pictures, but one of the hazzards of living out of boxes, is that you don't know where anything is, and I couldn't find my camera last night. So once again I had to post an iPhone pic. Anyhow, we are only making 2 projects this month because they are a little more involved. The Technique this month is sponging. This tag was made almost entirly using the Big Shot. A piece of cardboard was cut out using the Top Note die, and the birds and flowers are from the Birds and Blooms sizlet dies. The ribbon used is the Sleigh Bells ribbon from the Mini. The sentiment is from the All Holidays set. The inspiration for this tag comes from Andrea Walford's blog from last Christmas.

The second project is all Blair. I have been wanting to make a snowglobe out of the treat cups since I first saw them. I however, packed my white glitter which was to be snow, so instead we stamped the snowflakes from the Hostess level 2 set called Holiday punches and them punched them out using the Boho Blossoms punch. This card uses a lot of stamp sets. The snowman is from the level 2 hostess set from the Holiday Mini, as well as the snowflakes on the Night of Navy piece. The Trees in the background are from Lovely as a Tree. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The base of the globe is from Sweet Centres. It is actually the ornament top but we cut off the hook part.

Anyhow, just a reminder about Santa's Workshop this Sunday! 14 vendors, one stop Xmas shopping and chance to WIN a gift basket worth OVER $300!!! Hope to see you there.

My house is on the market & Event reminders!

It is official, my house is on the market! It has been a crazy two weeks getting it ready, but in the end I think (or rather hope) that it is worth it. We will know better next week if we get any offers! (*crosses her fingers*)

Now all my stuff and the work area are in the same place. I LOVE it! I am starting to get excited for my new home (even though we haven't picked it out yet) because I will get my very own Stampin' Studio!! Can't wait! I will take some pictures of the new space later this week.

Just a reminder that my Christmas Gift sale is on Sunday at 1pm in the Banbury Community Centre. Drop by if you can. There will be a HUGE gift basket to draw for valued at over $300!! My first ever Christmas Stamp-a-stack!

What's a Stamp-a-stack you ask? It's a great opportunity to make a bunch of cards, and I do all the prep work for you!! Come to my place on Nov. 28th at 1pm to make 16 cards! Wow! We will be making 4 of each of 4 different designs!! Cost for the Stamp-a-stack is $39 or FREE with a $100 order placed that day.

RSVP now to book your spots, space is limited.

We will be making a variation on this card. I actually sent these out as my Xmas cards last year. It's hard to see from the picture but the white paper on the bottom of the card is actually Shimmer paper. It's sooo beautiful in person. This card can also be changed around with a different sentiment to send to people who don't celebrate Christmas too!

Hope to see you there!

Just checking in......

Life is NUTS! I am currently taking a quick break from packing up all of my belongings, to clear my house out to get it on the market! I am going to say this right now........ "I AM NEVER GOING TO DO THIS EVER AGAIN!!". I have no idea how some people move every few years! This is HELL! Then again, I am not only sorting through our stuff, but my parents stuff, and even some of my grand-parents stuff because this house has been in our family for over 50 years, since it was first built! But, I keep on thinking about the light at the end of the tunnel, which is a larger home, more space for everyone, and my new Stamping studio!! YES!

Anyhow, thought I would share something with you today. It's another card made with my Digital studio. This one uses the most amazing Medallion stamp which is an add-on to the program and an absolute must have! The beauty of the digital program, is that you can adjust the size of the image. I can make the medallion as large or small as I want!

The colours I am using are Pretty in Pink, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip.

What do you think?

Just an update on Santa's Workshop, I am now up to 12 confirmed vendors! Make sure to join us on Nov. 22nd!!! It's going to be a fantastic sale! See you then.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!!

Let's hope the weather is okay for Trick or Treating tonight! My kids are very excited. Okay, well Xander a little less so, because he doesn't have a clue about the whole thing, but I am sure he will enjoy it once in the moment.

I thought I would share with you a card made with My Digital Studio. As easy as it was to make a scrapbook page, it was even easier to make a card! I absolutely love using this program. I can think of so many practical applications to card making in this way. Think about how easy it would be to make hundreds of custom Christmas card designs? And never mind digital cards, think card designer....

Ever found yourself cursing because you were trying to make a card, but it didn't quite work out as planned but you wasted a ton of materials making it? Why not design it in my digital studio first! No waste and beautiful cards every time. I know that's an benefit that I will be taking HUGE advantage of!

Happy Halloween everyone! Eat, drink be scary!

Technique Club day!!!

I know I have talked about how much I love and look forward to my Technique Club. It is just a fun group of women and I love their enthusiasm. If you would like to join one of my clubs, please let me know. You wont regret it! Not only do you get to come over to my place once a month to make awesome stuff, but you get to be the hostess one of the months and earn LOTS of free stuff! We have some great Hostess Promotions running right now, so why not join?

Here are the projects for this months club. Two of them feature sets from the Holiday Mini. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The first card features the BEAUTIFUL serene snowflakes set and is also my entry in to this weeks Pal Paper Arts Challenge.

I wanted to see if Silver, gold & chocolate chip worked together and boy do they ever!! I ADORE this card! I wanted to experiment with some non-traditional colours. The main snowflake is heat embossed in Silver. The background snowflakes are stamped on Very Vanilla using Platinum Shimmer paint, Gold ink and Chocolate Chip. I have even used some Brushed gold paper for framing the sentiment and main snowflake. Oh and under the sentiment is a touch of Silver elastic cord.

This second card was inspired by this card by Kristen Kennedy. I love the colour combo. I changed it up a bit and substituted Melon Mambo for the Rose Red. I used the Patterned Pines Level 1 hostess set from the Mini as well as I created a little embellishment with the snowflake from the set and the Jumbo snowflake punch and a clear Rhinestone brad! I think it's quite a beauty, I hope the girls like it too.

The last project is Halloween Treat pouch. It was one the first things I learnt to make with Stampin' Up Products and probally the reason I became addicted. It is soooooo easy and can modified based on the paper and stamp set you use for almost any occassion, holiday or event! I hope the girls like making them!

Sorry that I don't have the samples of this weekends 6 card class up yet, but I have been very busy working on something, that I can't quite share with you yet. But I will say that it is a fun event of some kind in November....... stay tuned.

We returned from Quebec on Sunday evening, and then Ed headed right out to the grocery store before they closed to buy everything we needed for a fabulous Thanksgiving feast on Monday! And what a feast it was! My husband is an excellent cook, and he definitely lived up to his reputation. He makes the most amazing stuffing/dressing! It has apples, walnuts and dried cranberries in it along with the traditional ingredients like bread, onions and celery. It is to die for! And no Thanksgiving feast would be complete without a fabulous Pumpkin Pie. I make mine from scratch. It is awesome. It is from my most favorite Pastry Chef, Anna Olsen. On my birthday this year I get to go to a Wine & Dine event at the near by McNally Robinson Bookstore with Anna Olson! Too fun! Here is the link to Anna's Perfect Pumpkin pie recipe.

Technology glitches...... still in Quebec!

Hey everyone,

I am still in Quebec, but have not been able to share any pictures with you because although I brought the cables for the camera, I don't for the life of me know where the software is putting the photos. I know that sounds really dumb, and I am fairly computer literate and have tried everything I know of. The path that the pictures are supposed to be in is drawing a blank, yet I can view them in the software. I could go and save each of them a second time and direct them to a specific folder, but I just haven't had the time. So in the meantime I will share a really bad photo of me from Stampin'palooza that shows my name tag. And provide you with the instructions to make it. In case you didn't know, Caroline had a name tag contest at Palooza. This was my entry. I didn't win, but that's not surprising, you should have seen all the beautiful tags people made! Wow! You can look at all of them in the Palooza gallery that I linked to in the previous post.

1. Take a piece of Basic Black card stock & using the Scallop Circle die for the Big Shot cut one circle.
2. Turn the punched out circle on the die and run through a second time so that you get the "pointy" circle instead of the scallops.
3. Stamp the desired name using the "Schoolbook serif" stamp set with Versamark ink, one letter at a time using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
4. Once you have stamped the letter, cover it with heat & stick powder, tap off the excess and heat with the heat gun.
5. Sprinkle the glitter of your choice, I was using the cosmo fine (pink) over the letter. Repeat with each of your letters.
6. Stamp the hive & 3 bees from the "Just Buzzin' By" set with Basic Black ink on Whisper White paper.
7. Colour them in using Stampin' Write Markers & cut them out with your Paper Snips.
8. Mount the Hive on the tag with Stampin' Dimensionals.
9. Mount the bees on wire and attach them to the back of the name tag with your adhesive of choice.
10. To attach the name tag to my clothes, I purchased some plastic name badge holders from a Dollar store and mounted it with snail.

We are having an awesome time on our vacation. The weather has been pretty good too! And the leaves are just stunning!! It is definitely peak for the leaves here in the Laurentians. I can't wait to share the pictures with you! Kieran learnt to horseback ride yesterday at a farm near by and is spending the whole day there today (it's a PA Day here in Quebec so the farm is running a full day program for the kids). Tonight we are going to visit with a friend of mine from work who lives just outside of Montreal. Looking forward to it. The other day we went in to Montreal briefly and I stopped into our Montreal office and got to put faces to a whole bunch of names with whom I have been working with for the last 10 years. It was a fun visit, but the baby was starting to make too much noise, so we had to leave.

I may or may not pop in one more time before we head home, but I promise to post pictures on Monday when we are back in Toronto, and still on vacation!!

On Vacation and the Urban Scrapyard in Leaside is closing and Stampinpalooza update!!

Hey everyone!

Greetings from St. Hippolyte, Quebec! My family and I are vacationing in the Laurentians for some much needed R&R. I will be posting throughout the week, but mostly pictures of our vacation. Hope you don't mind!

I got an email this morning that the Urban Scrapyard on Eglinton Ave in Leaside is closing! It's really too bad. It was a nice little store and the girls who owned it are very talented Scrapbookers. Urban Scrapbook customers need not fear however because I am able to bring you top of the line Scrapbooking supplies delivered to your door! And I am super close to Leaside too! Missing the wonderful classes offered by US? Don't worry, I have a fabulous class schedule lined up for this fall, and even a Scrapbooking Gifts class in October! Check out my events page for more info.

Stampinpalooza was this past weekend. I can't believe the event came and went! Visit this link for all the pictures! If you weren't able to attend this one, don't worry because Caroline is doing it again in Feb! So, think about joining if you can! I will be there! I would love for you to join me!

New Deals of the Week!!!

October already?????? It's a cold one here in Toronto today! But it doesn't have to be all bad, because Stampin' Up is doing the Deals of the Week again!! Each week (beginning today) Stampin' Up will list something on sale. You will only have until the following Monday to order, so you will want to stay ontop of this one!
So...... the question you want answered is "What is today's deal of the week??"
And my answer to you would be...................... PUNCHES!!! Not just any punches, but the Trio Flower punch & 5-Petal Flower for only $15.99 and the My Way punch for only $16.99! AWESOME! If you don't already have these punches contact me today to purchase them at this awesome price!!!
Here is a card made using the 5-Petal flower punch. It's an oldie, but a goodie, I love this use of the punch. For this card you punch out 6 of the flowers. You ink them all up using a sponge dauber and then you do the following:
1. Stack all 6 flowers and poke a hole through the centre using your paper piecer.
2. Leave 2 flowers intact and attach them together but alternately overlaped.
3. Cut the petals off the other 4 flowers by sniping up the middle of the flower on either side of the petals towards your hole.
4. Adhere the loose petals to the back of the 2 complete ones inbehind the open spaces.
5. Continue to adhere your individual petals following all the open spaces.
6. Punch out 2 ovals using the small oval punch, fold them in half and run them through your paper crimper!
Have a great day!
Cheers,
